Today marks the 22nd day of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Kiev has been accused of attacking civilian installations, such as residential buildings, during Russia's military operation. However, Moscow has denied such allegations.

In a Facebook post, the General Staff of the Ukraine Armed Forces claimed today that Russia, having failed a ground operation, was now launching air and missile strikes targeting civilians. They say Russia's failure on the ground means they are pushing for air and missile strikes targeting infrastructure and populated areas in various Ukrainian cities.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces further claimed that despite the air and missile attacks, they were winning the war on both the air and ground. They shot down 10 enemy air targets. However, the BBC has not been able to verify the veracity of this information.

The New York Times, citing U.S. officials, said more than 7,000 Russian troops had been killed in fighting in Ukraine over the past three weeks. However he acknowledged that their numbers were not enough to defeat Russia's foreign ministry.

Ukraine claims 13,000 Russian troops have been killed in the ongoing war. Russia says the number is 498.
