Putin listened to the progress of the Ukraine campaign

 


Russian President Vladimir Putin met on various issues, including the progress of Russia's campaign in Ukraine. The meeting of the Security Council of Russia was held on Thursday, local time. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov was quoted as saying by Russian media Sputnik.

The Security Council meeting was attended by top leaders including Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Deputy Chairman of the Council Dmitry Medvedev, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.

Dmitry Peskov said that yesterday's meeting focused on the current economic situation in Russia. At the time, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu briefed the audience on the progress of the special military operation in Ukraine. He also spoke about the Russian military's efforts to provide humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, to ensure security and to rebuild important infrastructure in Russian-occupied territories.

The meeting also discussed Western sanctions on Russia, Peskov said. He said officials present at the meeting expressed frustration that Ukraine was delaying its active participation in the dialogue with Russia to resolve the crisis.

Meanwhile, a month has passed since the start of Russia's campaign in Ukraine. Russian troops are battling Ukrainian forces in various parts of the country. In the meantime, the delegations of the two countries sat in talks at several points. However, no progress has been made in resolving the crisis.
