Manchester United sank to a new low as they lost against Arsenal by a score of 3-1 today. It was a game that the Reds had to win if they wanted to keep their hopes of finishing in the top-four alive, but it was another mediocre performance from Ralf Rangnick’s men.
Arsenal opened the scoring in the third minute and always looked like scoring again in the first half. Saka also scored a penalty in the 32nd minute to double Arsenal’s lead, but Cristiano Ronaldo got one back just after two minutes.
However, United couldn’t find the net from that point on, and Granit Xhaka’s goal in the second half just killed off the tie. As a result, United now have no hopes of making it into the top-four, and will most likely play in the Europa League or the Conference League.
Paul Scholes talks about the state of United’s dressing room
Fans aren’t happy with the club and yet, United’s disappointing performance didn’t come as a surprise. This has been a season full of false dawns for United, and the club is going to spend another season without a trophy. It’s a sharp fall from the Manchester United of the 2000s when the club used to compete for everything.
One of the most important players in that team, Paul Scholes, is currently a pundit and talked about United’s dressing room. He revealed that he had a conversation with United star Jesse Lingard, and the Englishman told him that the club’s dressing room was a disaster.
“I had a quick chat with Jesse Lingard there. I’m sure he won’t mind me saying, the dressing room is just a disaster,” Scholes revealed.

Manchester United and their future
The club have already taken steps to better its future and has appointed Dutch manager Erik Ten Hag for next season. The current Ajax manager will oversee an overhaul of the current squad and will try to get the club back to its best.
However, the job is not going to be easy at all, and the club will need to place their trust in Ten Hag. It’ll be interesting to see if the Dutch manager can make a difference.
