Joe Rogan Argues Against the Notion Elon Musk “Doesn’t Care” Amidst $43 Billion Twitter Bid

Joe Rogan has over the years become the voice of many people and he has indeed earned fans by resonating their opinions on a much larger platform. The famous podcast host has become a modern-day icon for people with certain ideas.

He is explicit in his opinions, controversial or not. This makes it easier for people to come to a judgment on whether they like it. He is an avid supporter of free speech and has made it clear a number of times in the past.

Recently, during a podcast with Duncan Trussell, Rogan chimed in on the latest Elon Musk-Twitter saga. Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk recently filed a bid to buy Twitter, and stated, “I invested in Twitter as I believe in its potential to be the platform for free speech around the globe, and I believe free speech is a societal imperative for a functioning democracy.”

When Rogan’s guest made his comments on the same and said he believes Musk doesn’t actually care, he intervened.

“I think he does care. He does, genuinely. He’s concerned about censorship. He said, ‘freedom of speech is someone you don’t like saying something you don’t want to hear.’ Because they have to have that right. It’s essential to a democracy,” said Joe Rogan.

He then inserted what he believes are the challenges of building a balance between freedom of speech and censorship.

“Most people objectively agree, the problem is you get scared because they see how like mobs of people can move in a very negative direction. There’s a real concern.”

Rogan added, “I understand why people are concerned about large groups of people being really sh**ty and getting on social media platforms. Some of that is good, right? But where does it end and how do you know?”

Rogan explained that there is a fine line between unfair censorship and people misusing the freedom to express themselves. In fact, it is a big challenge for platforms like Twitter to make clear guidelines about the same.

Joe Rogan censored by Spotify

Being an outspoken critic of censorship, Rogan made it clear what he feels about the whole controversy surrounding his opinions. Joe Rogan hosts his podcast, ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ on Spotify, and uses the platform to express his ideas.

The iconic UFC commentator is a versatile man. Naturally, his opinions do not circle around entertainment and sports only. As a result, he often falls into controversy, and ends up ruining his reputation.

Recently, Spotify, the audio-sharing platform which is the exclusive home of The Joe Rogan Podcast censored the man himself. They removed over 70 episodes of Rogan’s podcast after a huge public outcry over misinformation in its content.
