WATCH: Hendrick Motorsports Ace Chase Elliott’s Fans Roasted at the Circuit of the Americas

Last weekend at the Circuit of The Americas, Chase Elliott fans were teased for a bit. As it turned out, an image of an area full of portable toilets were dubbed as ‘premium seating’ for Elliott fans. In all honesty, this was not a dig at the #9 Hendrick Motorsports driver. In fact, it was largely a reference to his fanbase, who could sometimes be perceived as ‘toxic’.

The tweet was largely justified because of the variety of responses. While fans defended Elliott vehemently, they name-dropped drivers like Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick, and others.

Of course, there were others who acknowledged the toxic nature of Chase Elliott’s fans. Those fans mentioned Busch, largely due to his own image as NASCAR’s ‘bad boy’. Meanwhile, Harvick got a mention because of his frequent run-ins with Elliott last year.

What next for Chase Elliott in the 2022 NASCAR Cup season?

For the moment, the driver is focused on the current campaign. Admittedly, he may be under a little bit of pressure to notch up a win this season. This is because all three of his teammate have racked up a win each. Despite that, the #9 Hendrick Motorsports driver finds himself leading the championship standings. This weekend, the paddock heads to the Richmond Raceway, for the first of three consecutive short tracks.

Of course, now Elliott needs to maintain his position on top. Naturally, a win would be a nice bonus and would guarantee a playoff berth. With Hendrick Motorsports winning three races so far, Elliott is more than capable of reaching Victory Lane. It is just a matter of all the puzzle pieces falling in place and the driver being in the right place at the right time. If he can also stay out of any trouble with his fellow drivers, it will be a big help to his cause.
