The Tesla CEO recently stated that he wanted to buy Twitter for $43 billion. Despite being the largest single shareholder in the company, he wants the whole company.
Talking about his stance on the billionaire trying to buy the company, Rogan stated, “I hope he buys Twitter because he’s committed to the idea of free speech. We can’t have people dictating what people can talk. They did some things where they wouldn’t allow people to get links to certain news stories they thought would be unfavorable towards particular candidates. Like that sh*t’s dangerous. Like you’re controlling elections.”

Rogan is not new to controversies. And with controversies come the backlash and cancel culture on social media. Things were really in a dangerous spot for Joe Rogan’s career, following his controversies at the start of 2022.
Joe Rogan has been against the censorship and masking of free speech. This is for individuals and celebrities on social media alike, for a long time now. The UFC commentator has been expressing his disdain and anger at social media platforms against free speech for many years now. Moreover, Elon Musk’s offer to buy Twitter resulted in a massive paradigm change globally.
Joe Rogan stated that he would have to quit the podcasting scene and other social ventures if he had to be walking on eggshells from here on out. Given how explicit and open his conversations are, his content addresses many controversies that most other podcasts don’t.
