Dinosaurs with sharp nails

The dinosaur has two legs. Both have sharp nails like knives. Between 88 million and 145 million years ago, dinosaurs of this species roamed the coastal areas of Asia. Scientists have reported a new species of dinosaur in a new study. US and Japanese scientists have done this research.

Science-based media has published a report on the subject of live science. There it is said, the dinosaur in the binomial is from the Cretaceous era. A new species of dinosaur has been identified by analyzing fossils found on the northern Japanese island of Hokkaido. Researchers say it is the first fossil found in marine sediments in Asia. Analysis of these fossils found new species of dinosaurs. Scientists have named it 'Paralitheriginosaurus japonicus'.

According to the study, these dinosaurs belong to the genus Theriginosaurus. The dinosaurs of this genus are basically bipedal. It is a herbivore and a three-fingered dinosaur. And the important feature of this species of dinosaur is the knife-like nails. These dinosaurs used to cut plants more than those sharp clawed animals.

Anthony Fiorello, a professor in the Department of Earth Sciences at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, USA, and a co-author of the research article, said the dinosaurs used their claws to find food. Using these nails, the bushes and trees were brought to the mouth. It is thought that the dinosaur died on the ground. Later it floated to the sea. Another group of researchers in Hokkaido found the dinosaur fossil in 2006. However, they could not identify the species. Recently, researchers analyzed the data and identified it as belonging to the genus Theriginosaurus. According to their data, these dinosaurs were up to 30 feet long and weighed close to three tons.
